About Us
We are a gathering of Bible believing Christians who meet regularly in the village of Southill, Bedfordshire to worship God. Our services are simple and reverent, the main focus being the reading and preaching of the Word of God. We usually meet twice on a Lord's Day, and once during the week; services lasting up to an hour and half. Our one desire is that God in all things will be glorified through Jesus Christ. We warmly welcome all to join us at our services.
We also have a Sunday School for children aged 4-12 each Sunday at 4pm, apart from the first Sunday in the month, to which all children are welcome.
Our Pastor is Mr Tim Barker. Our Pastor takes the majority of services unless we have a visiting minister.

A meditation by Pastor Tim Barker
Jesus the Light of the World
Jesus said ‘I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness’ (John 12 v 46)
Our natural sun is vital for sustaining life, and for our health and wellbeing. The sun cheers us, invigorates us and heals us. God is good to make His sun rise each day, and because he is so merciful He makes it rise upon those who love Him as well as upon those who hate Him (see Matthew 5 v 45).
Yet in His ministry Jesus spoke of an even greater light than that of our natural sun! He spoke of a spiritual light; a light which would lighten men’s souls and bring them eternal life! That Light is Himself!
Because of man’s sin and Satan’s power this world has become a dark place. There is sorrow, suffering, fear and death. And man’s heart has become a dark place too: like blind men we don’t know who God is, what true righteousness is, or how to get to heaven.
Yet Jesus came to lighten this great darkness.
He came to give spiritual sight. To show us the way to heaven. To recover us from the darkness of sin. Jesus came as the Light of Truth. As the Light of Righteousness. And as the Light of Salvation. He taught that whoever repents of their sin and believes in Him will be saved from the darkness of their sin, from the darkness of Satan’s power, and from the darkness of death and hell. He is still the Light of this world. Even today He says:
‘I am the light of the world: he that follows me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life’. (John 8 v 12)
