Barnabas Aid

Southill Baptist Chapel is a collection hub for Barnabas Aid, which provides essential food and medical items for poor, hungry and persecuted Christians around the world.

Food items required for general distribution: 

• ·      Rice 

• ·      Salt (preferably bags, not tubs)

• ·      Sugar

• ·      Lentils (dried)

•      Chick Peas (dried)

•      Other Pulses (dried beans, dried broad beans and dried peas)

Please only send dried food (not tins) and ensure the items do not contain liquid, oil, or animal products. Bag sizes up to 3kg are acceptable, but larger packets of food are difficult to re-pack for shipping. Please ensure that the ‘best before date’ is at least 10 months ahead.

Medical items required for general distribution:

•       Crutches/walking frames

•       Wheelchairs

•       Reading glasses

•       Blood pressure monitors

•       Test Strips or glucose monitors for diabetes 

•       Mosquito nets

•       Stethoscopes 

Please do not send items belonging to the NHS, Red Cross or a medical company

Ukraine Winter Emergency Appeal 2023:

•       Dried Food Boxes

•       Tinned food - ring pull only

•       Cup-a-soup packets and energy bars

•       New Clothing and new blankets, especially coats, sleeping mats and sleeping bags

•       Medical items 

Donated items can be dropped off at the chapel from Monday to Saturday. Please leave items on the table in the under-cover area to the left of the chapel. Alternatively, you are welcome to take home an empty food.gives box and return it when full.
