About Us
We are a gathering of Bible believing Christians who meet regularly in the village of Southill, Bedfordshire to worship God. Our services are simple and reverent, the main focus being the reading and preaching of the Word of God. We usually meet twice on a Lord's Day, and once during the week; services lasting up to an hour and half. Our one desire is that God in all things will be glorified through Jesus Christ. We warmly welcome all to join us at our services.
We also have a Sunday School for children aged 4-12 each Sunday at 4pm, apart from the first Sunday in the month, to which all children are welcome.
Our Pastor is Mr Tim Barker. Our Pastor takes the majority of services unless we have a visiting minister.
Pastor is expected to preach on all Lord's Days and Tuesday evenings apart from Lord's Day 10th and 24th, and Tuesday 12th
ALL ARE WELCOME TO OUR SERVICES
A meditation by Pastor Tim Barker
Jesus said ‘Whither I go ye know, and the way ye know’
John 14 v 4
Jesus’ time on earth was coming to an end. He told His disciples that very soon He would be going away to be with His Father in His Father’s heavenly house.
On hearing this news, the disciples were very sad and troubled. One disciple named Thomas was especially perplexed because he thought that he didn’t know the place where Jesus was going, or the way there. It seemed like Jesus was about to go somewhere strange and that he would never be able to find Him again.
But Jesus told His disciples that they did not need to worry. He told them that they did in fact know the place where He was going, and the way there! But how was this? Well, Jesus told them that they knew the place He was travelling to because they knew the Father. He showed them that everyone who knows Jesus also knows the Father because Jesus and the Father are One God.
And did they know the way there? Yes. Jesus showed them that because they believed in Him as their Saviour they were already on the way to heaven. He said ‘I am the way’.
He also told them one more thing; that once He had prepared a permanent dwelling place for them in His Father’s house, He would certainly return to take them there!
These truths remain the same today. If we also know Jesus to be the Son of God, and come to Him for salvation, we will never be lost. We will know God the Father and the way to His heavenly dwelling place.
Have you come to Jesus, and are you on the way to heaven?
